Empowering Youth Through Arts and Culture

Rainbow Arts Organisation (RAO) is a youth led initiative that plays a pioneering role in advancing arts education within the community. It stands to encourage cultural integration and world peace through Arts and Culture.

We work in Schools, Communities and in our Arts Centre in Delft and through our educational programming, RAO contributes to building an informed, creative, and socially conscious youth for future generation.

Since our establishment in 2006, we have reached over 5000 young people in Delft and Surrounding communities in Cape Town.

Rainbow Arts Organisation is working towards a society

Where youth empowerment takes Centre stage through the performing arts to discover their potential, and achieve fulfilling careers, breaking the cycle of poverty and fostering sustainable growth in themselves, their families, and communities.

We do this through the offering of arts and culture programmes in communities by co-creating a space where vulnerable youth feel safe, engaged, motivated and inspired to constructively shape their lives.

We achieve this through our core values

Our values are *ICARE *... Inclusivity, Creativity, Accountability, Respect and Empowerment.

Embracing diversity and ensuring that all youth, regardless of background or circumstance, feel welcomed, supported, and valued as integral members of our community.

Fostering an environment that celebrates and encourages creative expression in all its forms, recognising the unique talents and ideas of every young individual.

Harnessing a culture of responsible citizens that fosters integrity, honesty and respect for the greater community, stakeholders and partners.

Listening actively, acknowledging different viewpoints, and showing appreciation for the contributions of our team members, our beneficiaries, our stakeholders, the community of Delft and beyond. It involves treating everyone with kindness and fairness, fostering a culture of trust and collaboration, and being considerate of others’ needs and opinions.

Equipping youth with the skills, resources, and confidence they need to realise their full potential, both as artists and as change-makers, empowering them to shape their own futures and contribute positively to society.
